Our Story

We’re a Toronto‑based dance family who saw the same problem every season: closets overflowing with beautiful costumes, shoes, and accessories worn just once. After years of buying, storing, and reselling gear through other chaotic markets for our own dancer, we wanted a better solution. That’s why we created Second Spotlight — a community marketplace designed for dance families by dance families.

Meet the Founders

Hi, we’re Rachel and Shael! Parents, chauffeurs, photographers of backstage chaos. We know firsthand the time, effort, and money that go into competitive dance, and we built Second Spotlight to help families like ours.
